001 Jerry Romanowicz & The World’s Oldest Polka Band?

Jerry Romanowicz
Jerry Romanowicz in his natural habitat.

Jerry Romanowicz has been playing the accordion since he was 5 years old, and for the last 16 years has been with a band that was around before he was born. Started in 1947, The Rymanowski Brothers Orchestra may be the longest running polka band in the world, but it isn’t Jerry’s first. He discusses several of the Northeast’s polka stars, the accordions he’s used, and what it’s like being in a classic polka band. I jump in with some information about Oktoberfest, which begins on the 19th this year, and we end the show with a little lesson in Polish curse words.
